Layer One: Terms and Conditions

Layer One is a small 3D printing business based in Meadowbank, Auckland. By placing an order, you agree to the terms below. We've kept them short and simple.

Orders and custom work


  • Everything is made to order. An order is confirmed once we've accepted it, and we may decline an order if a design can't be printed well (you'd get a full refund).
  • For custom work, we'll agree the design, price and timing with you before we start printing. We may ask for payment upfront.
  • If you send us your own design, please make sure you have the right to use it.
  • Colours and finishes can vary slightly because of screen settings, materials and the 3D-printing process.

Shipping


  • We deliver within New Zealand only.
  • Production takes 3-5 business days, then delivery takes 2-3 business days by courier. Custom and larger orders may take longer, and we'll let you know.
  • Shipping costs are shown at checkout, and we'll email you when your order ships.

Returns, refunds and cancellations


  • Because items are made for you, we can't accept returns for change of mind.
  • If something is faulty, damaged or not as described, contact us as soon as you notice (ideally within 14 days of delivery) with your order number and a photo. We'll repair, replace or refund it. This doesn't affect your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
  • Refunds go back to your original payment method and usually take 2-7 business days.
  • You can cancel before printing starts by emailing us your order number. Once printing has begun, we can't cancel.

Payments and disputes


  • Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. Prices are in NZD.
  • If something's wrong with your order, please contact us first and we'll do our best to fix it.

Privacy


  • What we collect: your name, email, phone number and delivery address when you order or create an account, plus anything you send us through the contact form or email.
  • How we use it: to make and deliver your order and to get in touch with you. We don't sell your information.
  • How we'll contact you: mostly by email. For longer jobs, you can sign in to your account with your contact details to check on the status of your job anytime.
  • Who else sees it: our courier gets your delivery details, Stripe handles your payment, and our website runs on Odoo.
  • Your rights: you can ask to see, correct or delete your information by emailing us or using your account page, in line with New Zealand's Privacy Act 2020. We keep order records for as long as we need to for business and tax purposes.

Designs and ownership


Our original designs, photos, branding and website content belong to Layer One, so please don't copy or sell them without asking. If we create a custom design for you, we'll agree how it can be used.

Liability and the law


Nothing here limits your rights under New Zealand law. Our products are decorative or light-duty, so please don't use them for anything safety-critical. We can't be responsible for losses caused by things outside our reasonable control. These terms are governed by New Zealand law.
